Overview

War map.png

The Great GenPub War is an ongoing conflict between several factions, with two main sides: Fenlandia and its allies (Kingdom of Dragons, Rosenguarde), and the Villains. It started when previous ruler of GenPub, Nojus (see active users), stepped away from the server to focus on schooling. This then caused a divide and subsequent factions all vying for power.

Additionally, The Nerd Trifecta, a council occupied by Nojus, Sage, and Dowobop, immediately collapsed after the departure of Nojus, leading to Sage joining Rosenguarde. No one knows what happened to Dowobop, but rumors of her becoming a mob boss have arose.

Factions

Fenlandia

Flag of Fenlandia

Fenlandia was established shortly after the departure of Nojus. Fen, also known as Fenelope or LivingPlasma, declared herself Queen of GenPub, and renamed GenPub to Fenlandia (also known as the Republic of Fenlandia, despite not being a republic). Fenlandia is not a monarchy, however. It is an anarcho-communist state with no laws, and values the prosperity of all beings. Fenlandia eventually grew to become a lawless democracy.

Fenlandia is allied with Rosenguarde (aka the Knights of the West).

The current Republic of Fenlandia confirmed members are as follows:

-Lady Fen of the Flowing Lotus. Established herself as Queen of GenPub, beginning Fenlandia.

-Princess Robin. Established as Princess of Fenlandia after asking Queen Fen very nicely.

-Devcey: Resident of Fenlandia. A member of the Republic of Fenlandia.

-Bug, Sqiure of Fenlandia. A member of the Republic of Fenlandia and the right-hand man of Queen Fen.

-Lino the Hellbat.

-Sir Budew, Knight of The Wind. Head knight of Fenlandia.

-Ashley, Head Technologist.

Villains

Villains were once a council of leaders who banded together to fill a power vacuum in the wake of Nojus' departure. Heavily fragmented by the disappearance of several council members, and the other members focusing on their own lands, the remnants of those who kept the title of Councillor seek to unify the world under their own malevolent banner.

After the fragmenting of the council, the artificer known as Councillor M seized all operations of the nation, infesting it with factories to mass-produce an army of unwavering loyal constructs. Related to this, Villains began coveting metal, willing to do almost anything short of crippling their own nation. The obsession of building a large army has not gone unnoticed by other nations.

Under this new reign, Villains took a shockingly diplomatic turn, allying with people who were once their foes, and appearing to be friendly and cordial with most kingdoms. It is unknown whether or not this friendly demeanour is just a façade, or a genuine attempt at continental unity.

Even now, after the original Council fell apart, the remains of the Villain Empire still remain a moderate superpower, and a plot to secure their former glory is likely to be in the works.

The current known members who still march under Villains' banner are as follows:

Councillor M: The unofficial leader of the Villains after the fragmenting of the council. She is the reason Villains covet metal, and is the one who has forged a large portion of the current alliances Villains find themselves in.

Councillor Jester: The leader of the nation of Weezerland, and the former jester of Nojus. Weezerland is a subsidiary of the Villains nation. Jester also likes to threaten nuclear Armageddon against rival nations.

The Grand Wizard of Belgium: A powerful spellcaster, the Grand Wizard tore a hole between dimensions and transported the entirety of Belgium into the Genpub lands, and grated it onto the Eastern landmass of the Genpub lands. Shortly after entering his realm, Belgium started collaborating with the Villains, becoming one with the Council.

Councillor Suber: The newest member of Villains, Suber was appointed mayor over a town on the northern coast of Villans' lands. Suber is perhaps the most mysterious member of Villains.

Belgium

Belgium is a real world country that was magically transported to the lands of Genpub by the Grand Wizard of Belgium, who immediately joined the Villains after arriving. For all intents and purposes, Belgium is not technically a separate faction, but was listed due to its significance.

Lichdom

The Lichdom is an anocracy ruled by the Lord of Bones and his House of Parliament. It lies on the border of Fenland in the middle of the Wastes of Arizona. It has a significant coastline primarily used for trade with all other powers. Trade is only permitted on the Port Fortresses, and attempting to enter the Lichdom from any other region will have the perpetrator detained.

The nation has recognized technological progress as the primary form of strength, with Liches being a scholarly position given to any Ghoul who has passed their higher education courses. This focus on education has given the Lichdom a high population of magically capable citizens to recruit from in the event of war. Their technological level exceeds any other nation’s by a wide margin, leading to developments such as the Mana Cored Bio Steam Engine or mass manufactured battlestaves.

The nation and its people are primarily focused on one thing; defense. Everything from their daily routines to the design of their massive underground cities are built with battle in mind. Maintaining a King despite the presence of a democratically elected council is yet another adaptation to war, so that if an invading army were to march into the country, the nation’s reaction time would be fast enough to put up a suitable resistance.

The Twelve Fortresses are massive settlements carved into cavern-like cities dug into massive aquifers buried under the stone deep beneath the Wastes. An invading army would have to contend with both the sweltering heat for days on end to reach the bone mashing defenses of the Fortresses. The native Ghouls are immune to the effects that the underground would have on the living, such as the boiling heat or asphyxiating air, allowing them to dig deeper and deeper cities. Trade between the cities is facilitated by trains built on narrow tunnels stretching miles, rigged to explode under orders from a military officer.

The nation has a strict legal code with attorneys, judges, and juries to convict any wrongdoers. There are equal rights for all Ghouls that can prove their sentience, separate systems for the living akin to animal protection laws, and no protections to mindless undead and automatons. The cities keep a large population of animals and detainees for scientific development and research. Their entire industrial base is formed from biological matter fitted to their role, wether it be a a train factory or a home appliance store. The Liches’s horrifying experiments on living organisms grant them mastery over life and death, and anything that may lay between.

The Lord of Bones reigns at the top and can push or propose any laws he may choose, but if the Parliament votes near unanimously against such a law, it can be vetoed. Similarly if over 50% of the thousand member council vote to present a bill it will be forwarded to the King, where he can reject or pass the bill into law. If the bill is rejected it will be pushed back into the Parliament where a vote is held. If 80% vote to pass the legislation into the legal system, the King’s veto will be bypassed. This system makes political developments slow to affect the nation, giving a clear view into its exact position to its rulers at any point in time.

The Lichdom is known to the outside world as a trade haven, where a anyone from all nationalities is accepted as long as the laws are respected. Its position as a vital trade hub makes the nation a neutral party between most other surrounding kingdoms and states. Of all of its natural resources, the Lichdom holds the most fertile ground on the planet. The most debilitating of all of the nation’s deficits is the common mana gem. While common in other places, the sands of the Wastes interfere with the formation processes of the crystals. Since mana gems are the most important facet of its industry, this dependence is uncomfortable for the nation. There have been numerous studies attempting to form synthetic gems, though most agree that stable production of these mana gems is a decade away at the least.

Current Lichdom Members are as follows:

-Alt, Lord of Bones, Founder of The Lichdom

-Bebs, Prince Regent, Trusted Advisor, Speaker of Parliament

Rosenguarde

Rosenguarde, also known as the Knights of the West, existed long before the conflict, but were never present in GenPub as a faction. After the departure of Nojus and the collapse of GenPub society, the leader of Rosenguarde, the Knight of the West, began to recruit new members swiftly.

Rosenguarde is the first nation to have had war declared on it, courtesy of Bananaland and the Villains.

Giddyland merged with Rosenguarde on the 9th day, giving Rosenguarde the largest landmass.

The current Rosenguarde members are as follows:

-The Knight of the West, Leader of the faction.

-Sir Sage, Knight of the Eclipse.

-Froggy the Amphibian Knight.

-Kenz the Pearl Knight.

-Droub the Knight of Black Iron.

-Ama the Knight of Black Ivory.

Knights of the East

No one knows what they are trying to do, they are often seen doing pointless things for the sake of being evil. The Knights of the East currently have two members, Duchess Mink of Vanity, and The Evil Knight of The East. Despite being Evil, the knights of the East have a truce with the majority of countries. They are allied with Bananaland and Quagdom. Despite the Evil name the members are not manipulative cold and calculated, more of a chaotic Disney villain with no goal other than to be percieved as Evil,

The Knights of the East was founded one day before the war when Mink, Duchesss of vanity mentioned being Ashkenazi Jewish, The Evil knight of The East informed her that he was also Ashkenazi. The two grouped up and Mink got sworn in as an Evil Knight. After being informed of the war The Evil Knights pubically defamed Fenland and it allies for no reason other than to be evil.

The Evil Knights created their own resource call Evil Coins, which do absoulutely nothing and you can have an infinite amount of them.

A notable moment was when the Knights of the East breifly opened a Casino and managed to take all of a countries resources except one, however Duchess Mink felt bad and gave the resources back because the country was their ally.

The Evil Knight of the East often talks in 3rd person and is very against dragons, also calling them Lizards. The East was also threatened to be completely destroyed after The Evil Knight kept making Innuendos and insulting others. Despite having no idea what they are doing, The Fenlandia allied countries are constantly talking about invading them.

Ocean

The Ocean was established by MC, a stray user who wished to get in on the action after the departure of Nojus. Their faction resides on a small island in the sea off the southern coast of The Eastern Continent, giving them the nickname of Atlantis. The Ocean is currently a neutrally-aligned nation.

The Ocean is currently a solo-faction, meaning only MC is a member.

Bananaland

Coat of arms of bananaland.jpg
Flag of bananaland.jpg

Bananaland was established by noneother than Banana, King of Bananaland, it was established before the power vacuum, however it quickly established itself as a superpower when the power vacuum started. Bananaland swiftly allied with Fenlandia, and by-proxy Rosenguarde, but when king Banana was given the oath he declined, making them enemies. He then briefly joined the villains but then switched back to Fenlandia, however that led to the King of Bananaland invading Rosenguarde. It is unknown where bananaland will go from here.

Bananaland is currently a solo-faction, meaning only Banana42 is a member.

The One True Court/Bucket

The One True Court is the highest acting court in the land, or well, over it. It is housed within an airship, which travels to necessary locations to pick up those awaiting trial and to neutral areas. It acts as a universal moderator in the rules of War and Politic. Fairness is its highest priority.

Current members are as follows:

-F.W. Bucket, Ronin Judge, Jury, and Executioner, Leader of the faction.

Bucket is a philosophical faction started by the Ronin Judge, F.W. Bucket. Carriers of Buckets is the name given to the practicing followers of the beliefs. With an emphasis on universal compassion and intelligence, Carriers of Buckets are promoted to travel between lands and help those in need when warranted, as well as spread wholesome words and helpful ideas. F.W. Bucket welcomes those from any and all factions to follow in the faith and to have faith in themselves and others.

Bucket is currently a solo-faction, meaning only F.W. Bucket, Ronin Judge, Founder of the beliefs is a member.

Kingdom of Sylvia

The Kingdom of Sylvia was established on the first day of Nojus' departure. While it was part of Fenlandia, the two factions split on the second day.

The current members of Sylvia are as follows:

-Darkeyon, King of Sylvia.

-Existingbeing.

W.A.N.T.E.D. G.H.O.S.T.S.

Flag of WANTED GHOSTS

W.A.N.T.E.D. G.H.O.S.T.S. (also known as Wives of the Apparition & Nightshade within the Torrent Expanse, Destinations of the Guiding Hand Over Stardust and Trembling Spirits) was established by Ollie (Hazel) at the end of the second day of the war. She made an announcement on Giddy Radio that she would be resigning from the Republic of Fenlandia to create her own faction, stating, "I have stood with Fenlandia from Day One, but it has come to my attention that the world is reaching a breaking point. I will be disbanding from Fenlandia and creating my own faction. The name and alliances are yet to be determined. I cannot wait to see where this performance goes next!" Her sanity is currently in question by many of the other faction leaders.

W.A.N.T.E.D. G.H.O.S.T.S. is a Meritocratic-Monarchy, meaning that members can gain certain power in the government based on their abilities and talent, but Ollie remains the true leader of the faction, and has the final say. W.A.N.T.E.D. G.H.O.S.T.S. have a book of information about the spirit realm, known as the Torrent Expanse, and about the deities that reside there. One of the faction's goals is the complete end of undeath, as, according to Ollie, it violates the cycles of death and life, and will lead to the end of days.

This book contains the following information: "Apparition & Nightshade: Our two deities. They reside in the Torrent Expanse. The Apparition is a a being made of the collection of all dead spirits. It is a malevolent being, which is why we protect the world from it. Still, we praise it, for its power is not to be scoffed at, nor what it represents. Nightshade is a being made of pure energy, and often takes the form of a flower. It is a benevolent being, and provides all mortals the life energy necessary to survive, as well as providing the potential of the arcane to a select few.

The Guiding Hand: An unfathomable being who has all knowledge. Only the Gazer of the Guiding Hand is able to peer into this knowledge, and not in its entirety; the Gazer of the Guiding Hand is capable of learning small bits of knowledge at random times. The Guiding Hand cannot be physically described, by lies beyond the Stardust in a place known as the Destination. The Guiding Hand guides fate in the world. No one is permitted to know what the Destination is, besides the Gazer of the Guiding Hand, for the knowledge could lead to the end of days if not properly handled.

The Trembling Spirits: These spirits are the recently dead, and have yet to become part of the Apparition. They also include spirits of undead creatures. These spirits live in perpetual fear, and roam the living world before entering the Torrent Expanse. One of our goals is to send all Trembling Spirits into the Torrent Expanse to maintain balance and safety of both our world and the Torrent Expanse."

The current W.A.N.T.E.D. G.H.O.S.T.S. members are as follows:

-Ollie: Gazer of the Guiding Hand: Leader of the faction. She claims to have the ability to see into the dimension of the dead, known as the Torrent Expanse, and has the ability to communicate with an entity known as the Guiding Hand, an entity with knowledge of all things.

-Witch Skink: An arcana-user who has the ability to construct magical skinks.

-Princess Calypso: Honorary princess and craftsman of the faction.

Day-By-Day Reports

Day 1: The Great Split

Immediately after the departure of Nojus, people began to scramble to gain power across Genpub. The day was spent forming factions, as people began to find where their loyalties lay. Land agreements were settled as each faction discussed what they stood for, attempting to recruit new members whenever possible.

Day 2: Conflicts and Chaos

The day began with the discussions of resources and trade. Giddy decided to leave the Villains, as his nation was a monarchy, which directly violated the views of the Villains. Giddy then formed an alliance with Fenlandia. Resources were decided and given to each nation, beginning the construction of structures and weaponry.

Banana decided to prepare an assault against Rosenguarde, violating the alliance with Fenlandia.

Sage of Rosenguarde traded 2 magic to the Giddy Kingdom for 3 metal.

Darkeyon of Sylvia obtained a small part of land from Giddy Kingdom.

The Giddy King started a radio station to broadcast the news of the war.

Lord of Bones and Ollie Haze traded 1 natural for 1 magic.

Bananaland and the Villains declared war on Rosenguarde, with Fenlandia taking Rosenguarde's side. The battle was fierce, but Fenlandia's plant-based weapons and Rosenguarde's defenses were no match for the combined forces of Bananaland and the Villains. Fenlandia lost 3 magic, Rosenguarde lost 1 metal and 2 magic.

Ollie (Hazel) swore allegiance to Rosenguarde, but is still part of Fenlandia.

Many other trade deals were made, and several new factions popped up, including Belgium and Quagdom. Tensions are building under the surface.

The day ended with the announcement over Giddy Radio that Ollie (Hazel) would be creating her very own faction, shocking many.

Day 3: Tensions, Trade, & Espionage

The first calm day, not much occurred on the third day of the conflict. Alliances changed as the new factions began to settle in. The battle grounds were cleaned up to make way for the new changes, and new information keepers were appointed.

A new international electronic trading system was created by Duchess Mink of Vanity from the Knights of the East, allowing economic trade to be streamlined.

A false-alarm was announced by Duchess Mink of Vanity after she accidentally gained intel into the plans of other nations that suggested threat. Fenlandia and W.A.N.T.E.D. G.H.O.S.T.S managed to calm her down before severe damage was done.

Tensions are rising between Bananaland and the Knights of the East after Bananaland invested in EvilCoin, and changed his mind shortly after.

The Evil Knights of the East rebranded as THE EVIL KNIGHTS OF THE EAST. What's the difference? Who knows! Immediately, Bananaland officially declared war on THE EVIL KNIGHTS OF THE EAST. Bananaland's allies have not commented at this time.

A peaceful settlement was made before battle occurred, ending the war before it started.

Day 4: Diplomatic Wars

The day also began quite calmly. Discussions of Giddyland building a court and a city began, and some trades were made.

Giddyland began to rapidly develop modern technologies and proposed building a highway system between all nations, but because one of the highways would have to span the Ocean, which is MC's territory, tensions sparked between the two.

Out of boredom, the Knights of the East and Tincan declared war on each other. Many other factions tried to declare war on the East, but an intervention was held by the Overseer to prevent utter chaos. Tincan won the war against the Knights of the East.

Bananaland broke alliances with East, and declared war. However, east won the battle, but bananaland won his losing back gambling with the East.

Ollie confronted Lichdom about their undead population. Ollie proposed two options: the complete purging of the undead, or ressurecting all the undead and returning them to full life. Lichdom agreed with the second, but wanted it to be optional. Ollie disagreed, but the two were able to come to a compromise before war was declared. Tensions are still high between the two, though.

Day 5: The Great Alliance & Intercontinental Bridges

The day began more actively than the previous two, with Droub of Rosenguarde attempting to seal an alliance with Lichdom. However, this failed after Rosenguarde's leader, Knight of the West, stepped in. Immediately after, alliance talks between the Villains and Rosenguarde began. After some discussion, an agreement was settled between W.A.N.T.E.D. G.H.O.S.T.S., the Villains, and Rosenguarde, forming an alliance between the VIllains and Rosenguarde.

Giddyland declared war on the Ocean, due to a disagreement on building a bridge across the Ocean. Giddyland made a swift victory, and the bridge was constructed.

Day 6: Political Marriage & Border Changes

Fenlandia broke ties with Lichdom after a vote was held among the members. The Knight of the West faked a marriage between himself and the Knight of the East, and then swiftly used it to declare war on the East. Land was used as a means of getting resources for several factions.

Day 7: A Mutual Agreement

On the seventh day, the leaders of the Genpub lands realized that they were running out of space, and new factions had no where to go. Some unsettled land remained, but the leaders of Genpub decided to keep the land a meeting ground for the leaders, called The General Public. There, leaders could meet to make diplomatic decisions or declare wars, if needed.

Day 8: The Unexpected Twist

Nojus made a surprise return to the Genpub lands, but stated he was not the leader, and never was; he was meant to "be a wandering prophet who constantly gets kicked out of cities for preaching radical ideas of salvation." Still, the leaders of Genpub consider him an all-powerful being. However, without his leadership, the conflict pressed on. Several nations discussed plans on their next steps as things began to get a little too quiet.

Day 9: The First Merge

Giddyland and Rosenguarde came to an agreement, in which Giddyland would merge with Rosenguarde and become one nation, in return for Kenz gaining some power in the Rosenguarde government. The two sides agreed, making Rosenguarde the nation with the most land.
