Ravenholm is a new town on the 1.14 server that gained town status in November of 2019. There are about 20 members working to grow and expand the town and community. Ravenholm is a relaxed place to live with very few rules and building restrictions.
History
Ravenholm was originally a failed town that never gained life due to the inactivity of its founder. Around August of 2019, once Somewhere was running low on room, an agreement was made between Somewhere's leaders and CodedTechless (Ravenholm's Founder) that the town of Somewhere would run and populate Ravenholm as a district of Somewhere to help it gain life. After some minor drama with a users build, the Somewhere began to work on and populate the town with new users. Some of the first builds made were the community farm, communal storage center, some basic paths, a rail connecting it to Somewhere, and a failed villager farm. This new alliance also inspired the reimagination of the Somewhere Netherhub area to provide a more welcoming entrance to Somewhere as well as its connection with Ravenholm. In November of 2019, CodedTechless stepped down as Mayor as they did not have any time to be on the server, and the Somewhere Leaders made Cr33pingd3ath the new Ravenholm Mayor. With this change, Ravenholm's population grew exponentially becoming a very active town on the server. While Ravenholm has made its way to become its own town, it is still very connected and intertwined with Somewhere. The towns are governed under the same rules and leaders, and residents of Ravenholm have access to the Hive in Somewhere which many residents see as a massive perk.
Points of Interest
There are a number of projects in the works for Ravenholm, as well as many completed ones.
Welcome Center
Upon arriving through the nether portal, this is the first building you see. Inside are many things such as a list of all residents, an enchanting area, some furnaces, crafting tables, and other things for new members to use.
Communal Farms and Storage
The first area built on the server was the community mines and storage areas. These gave many new residents access to things faster than having to starve or search for materials in order to begin their build.
Villager Farm (Standing but not Operating)
In an attempt to draw people in, abielek tried making a villager farm in Ravenholm, however after hours of work, and transporting over 6 villagers, they refused to breed. After this, the project was abandoned. Instead, the residents of Ravenholm were granted access to the Hive for all of their villager needs.
UN Build (WIP)
Similar to the UN in real life, this build will be a place that represents all towns on the server. While it will unlikely actually be used due to the inactivity of many towns, it will be designed as if it is and have banners from all towns and settlements on the server being represented.
