I Want Die (originally stylized as "I want die") is RTGame's signature Mii. He was created on 21 October 2018[2], and is his most frequently recurring Mii character.

History

On 21 October 2018, at the behest of Twitch Chat, RT created a Mii during his Wii Sports Resort Stream in order to be able to save his progress. Chat suggested he be named Ross Bob after a character from a prior Sims stream; RT quickly rejected this idea. After two additional suggestions ("Grouchy" and "Kill Me Bob"), RT decided to name the Mii "I Want To Die", shortened to "I Want Die" due to the character limit for names. I Want Die proceeded to excel in an array of activities featured in the game, particularly Archery, Swordplay, and Bowling.

I Want Die has since been featured in numerous Wii streams, as he is the first of two Miis that appear on the console. He soon became a recurring channel meme and, as a result, was included in many non-Wii streams, as well as merchandise.

Appearances

  • 11 November 2018: During RT's Wii Music Stream, I Want Die plays an array of instruments, including recorder, drums, guitar, and dog suits. He also conducts an orchestra.[3]
  • 21 November 2018: During RT Game's Wii Fit Plus Stream, I Want Die serves as RT's avatar.[4]
  • 29 November 2018: I Want Die makes an appearance in Wii Play but is not used; instead, the freshly created End Mii fills his role.[5]
  • 7 December 2018: During the second round of WWMii, I Want Die is represented by a Ness amiibo. He makes his way to the finals, but loses to YT Rewind, a Sheik amiibo. It is suggested that neither he nor End Mii were on RT's Nintendo Switch at this time, as the Mii used for End Mii isn't the same one used in Wii Play.
  • 9 January 2019: RT plays Wii Party on stream, and I Want Die consumes all of the food in the world.[6]
  • 2 February 2019: RT streams Mario and Sonic at the Olympics, and I Want Die becomes an Olympic Gold Medalist.[7]
  • 12 February 2019: RT plays Big Brain Academy with I Want Die, but quits within an hour.[8]
  • 20 April 2019: RT streams Wii Sports, especially engaging in its Bowling, Golfing, and Boxing minigames. I Want Die quickly works his way through the ranks of the boxing league, and takes down the popular expert Matt in a dramatic finale.[9]
  • 9 May 2019: RT streams Nintendo Land; however, I Want Die isn't on the console. In an attempt to remedy this, RT uses the system's camera to try to copy the Mii. This results in 3 bootleg Miis, after which RT receives a QR Code for someone's I Want Die Mii. This Mii had differently angled eyes, lacked the beauty mark, and wore yellow instead of I Want Die's iconic red.[10]
  • 30 May 2019: RT streams Tomodachi Life, with the original I Want Die as the second islander. His personality is an Easy-Going Softie.[11]
  • 8 September 2019: RT shows off his Tropico 6 map, which had been officially added to the game. The map is based on Ireland, and features an island designed to look like I Want Die.[12]
  • 25 December 2019: During the second WWMii, I Want Die is represented as a Mii amiibo akin to the other competitors, with the sole exception of the prior year's champion, YT Rewind. I Want Die gets taken down in the first round by the eventual tournament champion, Shaggy. During the follow up "No drugs edition" tournament, which removed three fighters including Shaggy, I Want Die fared no better, losing to Peter in a free-for-all alongside Gandhi. This version of I Want Die features different eyebrows and lacks the wrinkles and beauty mark of the original. RT also briefly shows his Switch's home screen at the end of this stream, revealing this version of I Want Die as his profile picture.[13]
  • 16 March 2020: RT begins streaming Miitopia for the 3DS, with I Want Die as the hero. The party consisted of I Want Die the Pope (a cleric), End Mii the Chef, Obama the Popstar, and Mr. Bean the Warrior, and their quest was to defeat the Dark Lord Pringles.[14]
  • 26 March 2020: RT streams Miitopia again, this time completing Greenhorne. During this stream, it is suggested that I Want Die and Obama are in a romantic relationship.[15]
  • 28 June 2020: RT releases the RT's Universe Pin Pack on FreshMerch, featuring I Want Die as a pin.
  • 14 July 2020: RT streams Wii Sports again, this time with an attachment of the Babysitting Mama baby (later renamed to "Gilbert") on the Wiimote. I Want Die has a rematch with Matt, but loses. Following this loss, RT switches over to Wii Play for a round of Shooting Range, once again using End Mii.[16]
  • 15 October 2020: During his Super Smash Bros stream celebrating the release of Steve, I Want Die makes a brief appearance as one of RT's 26 Mii Fighters as he seeks Obama to put in a Knuckles costume.
  • 26 October 2020: RT streams himself signing 500 merchandise posters, sold that same day on FreshMerch. I Want Die is featured in a cubic form on the poster. Later that same day, an unsigned version of the RTGame Galaxy Poster releases on Freshmerch.[17]
  • 17 November 2020: RT streams Wii Sports Club, using the IWantDie3 initially for bowling, then switching to MeLikePain, the third bootleg I Want Die. During this stream, RT remarks that I Want Die is on the console, though it is unclear if he meant QR Code I Want Die or if the original I Want Die was in the Wii U's Wii emulator Mii Maker.[18]

  • 2 February 2021 and 3 February 2021: RT streams Super Mario Galaxy 2, with I Want Die representing his save file.[20]
  • 13 April 2021: During the 3rd WWMii, I Want Die defeats Mortality in a spontaneous match that, according to RT, was not originally planned for the tournament. I Want Die defeats Jeff Bezos in the second round, and loses to A Prius in the third round.[21]

I Want Die prioritized swing strength while playing golf, followed by running stamina and ball control. This version of I Want Die differs from the one seen in WWMii's 2 and 3, as he appears with no mouth and a different haircut.
  • 29 August 2021: RT streams Miitopia for the Nintendo Switch. I Want Die sets out to defeat the face-stealing Dark Lord Von Karma as a chef, joined once again by Mr. Bean as a warrior, and new additions Chat the Mage and Goofy the thief. During this adventure, they encounter a wild horse that they name Mint who joins them on their adventure.[22][23]
  • 6 September 2021: RT streams Miitopia and finishes Greenhorne. Mr. Bean, Chat, and Goofy are kidnapped by Von Karma while I Want Die is stripped of his powers. They work with the Fab Fairies Crumpet, GLA, and Void in their fight against Von Karma.[25]
  • 19 September 2021: RT streams Miitopia and finishes the Realm of the Fey. The party is once again kidnapped; this time, however, I Want Die does not lose his powers. Inside the Mines of Mordor, I Want Die finds Goofy, Dread, and Magic John, whom Khadgar has rounded up to keep safe after they lost their faces. After saving their faces, the party gains the ability to freely change their jobs, and I Want Die reverts back to being a scientist. The party sets off towards Von Karma's lair, rescuing Chat, Gilbert and Jefferson on route. Khadgar then leaves the party, trusting that I Want Die can now defeat Von Karma.[26]

They face off against Von Karma, and during the fight, I Want Die and Cupcake briefly have their faces stolen. The Dark Curse that turned Von Karma into the Dark Lord tries to take control of I Want Die after the fight, but possesses Khadgar instead. The party heads to the Traveler's Hub to look for clues as to where the Darker Lord Khadgar has gone.

As the fight concludes, I Want Die is given a choice by Khadgar as to what to do with the Dark Curse, whether the Curse be broken or the individual who became the Curse be saved. I Want Die decides to save the Curse, and the Curse is given the original Wii/3DS I Want Die face, who RT states was, "...modified, because he was just so damn ugly."
  • 26 October 2021: RT streams Miitopia. The party clears the Galados Isles. While working their way through New Lumos, I Want Die falls ill and is temporarily replaced as party leader by Chat. After I Want Die recovers, the group challenges and defeats the Tower of Dread.
