Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

From RTGame Wiki

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are a duo of near-identical role-playing games developed by Game Freak and released in 2022. RTGame played the Scarlet version during his streams. RT also broadcasted the DLC The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero.

The game was first played during the livestream on November 18th, 2022. The first part of the DLC, The Teal Mask, was started on September 13th, 2023 and finished after one day on September 14th. The second part, The Indigo Disc was started on December 16th, 2023 and was completed the next day on December 17th.

Over the course of multiple, extraordinarily long streams, several recurring characters were created. RT named his character Lettuce and embarked on a journey to discover the secrets of the Paldea region. A large number Pokémon were caught for a steadily rotating team, most notably Taffy the Tinkaton and Candy the Mareep. The playthroughs also spawned exhaustive commentary by both RT and the Chat members on the technical state of the game, especially the sub-par performance and its lackluster graphics. As with many other games played by RT in the past, he managed to sequence-break the game due to it's semi-linear story progression, open-world design and low difficulty. Notably, he battled the legendary Pokémon Wo-Chien before beating the third gym.

The following list gives a short summary of the events of RT's playthrough. Minor appearances of the game in a stream without any significant developments might not be included.

Stream 9

The second part of the DLC, The Indigo Disc was started with this stream on December 16th, 2023. As a special homage to the Pokémon series and his playthroughs of previous generations, RT transferred several Pokémon previously used. Most notably, the final battle of the stream featured Grief, the Chandelure from the Black 2 Nuzlocke.

Stream 10

RT finished the play-through of the Indigo Disc DLC during this stream on December 17th, 2023, rising up to the rank of Blueberry Academy League Champion and finding the Hidden Treasure of Are Zero. Once again, the stream featured several Pokémon transferred up through the generations - with the star being Crumpet, the Ampharos from the Heartgold Nuzlocke. The stream also featured a return of the Breaking the Economy Trope via the Item Printer feature. Said machine makes it possible to enter a gamble for high value items by spending points and materials earned from Blueberry Academy Quest. RT employed several members of chat to complete the infinitely repeating quests for him, which let him obtain the rewards while not even having to stop gambling on the Item Printer.
