Ice Highways

Summary

Ice highways (or iceways) are a major form of transportation on the RTMinecraft server. The reason they are built in the Nether is due to the 1:8 ratio of blocks traveled in the Nether compared to the Overworld. It is much faster to travel down an ice highway in the Nether than it is to travel in the Overworld due to this.

An Ice Highway

The new server has four main highways branching out in each of the four cardinal directions. The red highway travels north, the green highway travels east, the blue highway travels south, and the purple highway travels west.

History

Ice Highways were first built in the Middle Server to get to the Guardian Farm faster. They eventually became widespread and were expanded to many stream builds, towns, and personal bases.

The current server's ice highways were started by mods and admins when they built the nether hub, and each one has it's own directory compared to the single one on the old server.

Nether Hub Ice Highways

The Nether Hub Ice Highways are four major ice highways branching from the nether hub. They are maintained by the community.
