Sakurium is a district of Sai City once known for it's drama and its build code. It's made up mainly of skyscrapers, taking its design from modern-day cities. Sakurium is currently closed (no more builds are allowed) and under heavy renovations by markthomas007.

Located South West of spawn. Roughly 3,000 blocks north of the world border.

Build Restrictions

This is one of the reasons why sak fell apart. When a person wanted to build in sak they had to go to a private world and recreate what they wanted to build or show a concept and send it to the build counsel. It would either get accepted, rejected, or would even be modified by the counsel. This caused a lot of people to not join due to most of them just wanted to just build a skyscraper or house and not have to ask if a plan is fine. Also if the building was built without permission or "looked ugly" the counsel would request for it to be taken down or modified so it looked better.

History

Sakurium is an urban skyscraper city with high-rises mostly made of quartz and concrete. Due to the strict build style and over the top government, it drove a lot of the player base away.

It started in the 1.12/1.13 server with the idea of making a urban skyscraper city by the original mayor Professor_Sword. He was very strict on what was built and the city didn't exactly grow very much due to some more drama and the lack of materials the old world had due to a mob cap and the small world boarder.

When the whitelist completely broke beyond repair one month before the server reset one person in the sak discord decided to host a server in the snapshot versions of 1.14 for anyone that wanted to try out building with the new blocks. The server became to be known as Sakurium Evolution since it originally showed the evolution of building from the sak builders(though this original concept was later scraped). The owner of the server started to develop it into an actual server network and is now being developed into a full server network. Its still being developed and is close to being released

The city is notorious for its tough restrictions and elitist manor as well as having drama surrounding it. This toxicity led to the town's demise. The town went inactive for several months around the time they were building suburbs.

It used to be only inhabited by some active members like DrthVrdr, SergeyMeyer (Owner of M&P Enterprises), Kassen, and some other members. There are other, less active residents, who comes on to check their profits in the market or come online to use Sakurium's Villager Tower, which is home to a few villagers to trade with.

A Slight Revival

With the entrance of a new promising mayor, "DrthVrdr", along with the opening of the end dimension, some old and new Sakurium citizens began trickling back to support the several month inactive town. Around the time it had been inactive, Sakurium was labeled as a bad town for it's inactivity, toxicity, drama, and strict build code. Some of the few players that came back began to attempt to completely finish the urban section, hoping that they can get out of the hole that had already dug themselves into.

The suburban district of Sakurium, also known as Sai (Originally Hajimari), has split off from the main Sakurium city. It had plans to create a brand new town, with much less government and restrictions, similar to the style of Godhaven or Somewhere. They started building but also died soon after due to lack of support, the announcement of the 1.16 reset, and the mayor focusing on other projects like The Sakurium Evolution server project.

Closing Down

The Suburban district, now renamed to Sai City, has gained traction and developed a better stance in the role of a proper town. Sakurium on the other hand, is now rendered a metropolitan ghost town. It may look great and mighty with its tall towers and epic modern beauty, but it doesn't hide the fact that no one lives there anymore. The people that are currently still there are simply re-constructors, finishing up the forgotten towers of uninterested citizens that were left behind.

With no other option left for the empty, inactive, modern, high-rise town, Sakurium crumbled and joined Sai City as the Urban District. Its now a ghost town now and the only people still living in sak are MoroboshiAtaru, and markthomas007.

The Last Big Sakurium project (RT International)

Markthomas007 started to revamp the city when Professor_Sword was working on Sai but Mark wanted to start on another project after finishing the James Terminal in sai. He had an idea to build a airport in the city and in November of 2019 he decided to start work on the airport. It was his first time making an airport but he had a general idea of what he wanted to build. He had to terraform a big area of the airport and it took a 5 months but he finished Terminal 1 of the airport. later he made a deal with albuq to have his name on the terminal with a few other items in the deal that he wont say to get a elytra. Soon after finishing Terminal 1 he decided to start work on Terminal 2 with a better design in mind and is currently working on terraforming the land for the new terminal. it is currently not named after anyone.
